Doing a Responsible Service of Alcohol WA Course is mandatory training for licensees, bar staff and supervisory staff engaged in the sale and supply of liquor.
Supervisory Staff
Staff in a supervisory position of a licensed premise must complete the nationally accredited unit of competency Provide responsible service of alcohol (SITHFAB009A).
A certificate showing the successful completion of any of the below will be accepted as proof of compliance with the requirements:
- Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB009A) – National Accreditation
- Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol WA (THHBFB09A)
- Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol WA (THHBFB09B)
All Servers
All servers of liquor on a licensed premises must complete an approved Responsible Service of Alcohol WA certificate training course, however they may undertake the non-accredited abridged course from an approved training provider listed below. The alternate option is to receive a national accreditation as referred to above. This is strongly recommended as this National accreditation is accepted in the majority of states and territories around Australia (Accepted in WA, SA, NT, ACT)

What If I am Under 18?
Can I still get my Responsible Service of Alcohol WA Certificate?
Yes. When completing the course you are not involved with the sale or supply of alcohol, nor is it consumed, so you can partake in RSA training. However, you cannot work with alcohol until you are over the age of 18.

At this stage, there is no expiration date on the National Accreditation.
