Hello Jaimee,
Its great to know that all states of Australia hold the course for Responsible Service of Alcohol. The course sounds like it holds a lot of information and will be useful for all those who wish to enter the workforce serving in bars.

Its great that there are these courses around. I used to to work in a bar to get myself through university 15 years ago and it was just a matter of “judgement” versus the company wanting to make more money. I think it is fabulous that there is now recognised training.

Attending an RSA course is close to a rite of passage for school leavers. The wonderful world of employment opens up to you if you’ve got this bunny in your back pocket. It’s also important to understand from a social and health point of view.

hi,
is there no rsa qualification that is valid in all states across australia, or do you have to get one for each? i’ve got a working holiday visa and have done bar work in Britain and am going to be travelling through a number of states. Also is it worthwhile obtaining the certificate from websites online before I go or are they a hoax? Could you point me in the right direction of a trusted website please?
thanks freddie
Hi Freddie,
Thanks for your message and a damn good decision on heading to Australia – you’ll have a ball working in hospitality here. I wish I had the perfect answer for you but unfortunately there is not one course that is valid in every state in Australia. Each state has their own laws so they are yet to introduce a nationally accredited course that is actually accredited in every state. There are some states that allow you to do your rsa course online – so most websites that offer online courses are not a hoax, but of course there could be some that aren’t actually accredited training providers so it is good that your checking up on it (And of course some states don’t accept online courses). At this stage I don’t promote specific companies on this website but have provided some information via email for you. Please let me know if you have any more questions and all the best!
